Plantar Fasciitis
Summary
Plantar Fasciitis occurs when the thick band of fascial tissue connecting our heels to our toes becomes inflamed and irritated. Symptoms most commonly appear with the first steps taken in the morning. Pain may decrease as you get up and move around however, symptoms return after long periods of standing or sitting.
Cause
When tension and stress are present in the arches of the foot, the plantar fascia can tear and become inflamed causing Plantar Fasciitis. However, in most cases, it is unclear as to what the direct cause can be. There are factors that may increase your risk of developing Plantar Fasciitis such as age, exercise, weight and occupation.
