Dealing with headaches on a daily basis can make doing even ordinary activities hard to accomplish. Fortunately, there are several techniques that can ease the pain and prevent further headaches.

Types of Headaches

Tension Headaches:Tension headaches are typically caused by stress, anxiety, or any other emotional conflict. When a person is going through these emotional conflicts, muscles tend to increase in tension, thereby causing strain and injury.
Migraine Headaches: Migraines are typically felt throughout the entire head. In addition, you may have sensitivity to light and sound. Having chronic migraines can be quite disabling. Those suffering from these types of headaches are more likely to have depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, pain conditions, and exhaustion.
Cluster Headaches: Cluster headaches have often been described as one of the worst pain conditions, even more excruciating than migraines. The pain is usually felt only on one side of the head. The length of cluster headaches can vary for each individual. Symptoms include a clogged or runny nose, sweating face, and a drooping eyelid.

Treatment for Headaches

There are several natural ways that will help in decreasing the pain of headaches. Our bodyworkers and massage therapists will listen to your symptoms and decide which route is best for you. We can manipulate your muscles to ease the tension and pain. At home solutions are also a good course to take when treating headaches. Consider drinking a cup of herbal tea. Not only will it help in relaxation, but it also has the potential in being a natural painkiller. We recommend mixing feverfew with chamomile for a calming tea that diminishes or eliminates headaches. In addition, simply drinking water may ease and prevent headaches. Nearly 80 percent of Americans suffer from mild dehydration most of the time. Try drinking a glass or two of water if you think your headaches are being caused from dehydration.

As Bodyworkers & Functional Movement Therapists, we focus on balancing the muscle and fascial systems of the body to improve range of motion, posture, and support pain free living. We are able to view your muscle imbalances and decide on the best treatment plan specific to your needs and properly address your headache and migraine type symptoms.
