Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Summary
Thoracic outlet syndrome is a condition where the blood vessels, nerves and fascia between the neck and upper chest become compressed or impinged.
Cause
Some causes of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome may result from physical trauma or injury. However, most cases of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome develop from chronic holding patterns (caused by injury or stress, that shortens the tissue and holds it there.) created due to repetitive daily cycles we exhibit.
Effects
Fascial tension can create adhesions or trigger points in muscle bellies which can lead to a repeated cycle of pain and increased symptoms. During certain activities, flare-ups may occur where symptoms are intensified.
